Judge Rui da Fonseca e Castro, who specializes in criminal law and criminal cases in Portugal, is taking on his country’s government.
Reiterating that he is not a doctor, nor an infectious disease specialist, the lawman is concerned about the measures taken to manage the epidemic.
According to him, these are excessively liberticidal: “I have seen threats against freedoms and fundamental rights.”
In a country where the population is nearly 85% vaccinated, the judge regrets seeing a “tyrannical government” and says he is committed to a fight against “the corruption of the [Portuguese] political system.”
Rui da Fonseca e Castro calls for an independent investigation into the analysis of the vaccination data, expressing concern about conflicts of interest involving the actors in this case.
